Nujiang River is abundant with fish and rice along the lower reaches , the real grand Nujiang Gorge begins from the upper reaches , many mountains , sheer cliffs and peaks stand on the either side of the gorge , reaching an impressive height of 3000-6000 meters .Lisu , Dulong , Nu , Tibetan people live in the deep valleys , the first three are unique minorities in Yunnan . The most of the minorities here worship all kinds of religions . each village has its own church or temple . adding much more harmonies to the rural area . the minorities have their own festivals , such as Chop,Bath gathering and Stick Festival of Lisu people , Flower Festival of Nu people , Reincarnation Festival of Tibetan . |

in minorities custom are crossing the river by the sliding
rope .The gorge area was one of the air routes flown by the
Flying Tiger of the American Air Force during World War Two . |
