The major sight within easy walking
distance of the centre of town is Taibao Park . It is flanked to the
south by the Wenbi Pagoda and to the east by the Yuhuang Pavilion
. All three are worth a look . The Yuhuang Pavilion dates back to
the Ming Dynasty and has a small museum next door to it . The good
viewing pagodas in the park provide good views of Baoshan .

Yilong Pond
| |
There are
paths in the park striking off to the north , west and south .
The northern path doubles back to south and eventually takes you
past a very mediocre zoo , keep walking to the south you will
reach Yiluo Pond , also known as the dragon spring pond . The
best thing about the latter are the views of the 13 tiered Wenbi
Pagoda . |

Reclining
Buddha Temple
| |
Just 17km
north of town , the Reclining Buddha Temple is one of the most
important historical sights in the vicinity of Baoshan . The temple
dates back to the Tang Dynasty , having a history of some 1200
years . The reclining buddha itself , in a cave to the rear of
the temple area , was severely damaged during the Cultural Revolution
and has only recently been restored . |
